Disaster Alert: Tornadoes in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri

Disaster Alert

Illinois – A series of severe thunderstorms caused tornado activity in several portions of the state, destroyed scores of homes, damaged others, closed roads, left thousands of residents without power and prompted evacuations on Sunday.  Multiple deaths and injuries reported.

Chapters within the region conducted call downs, deployed Team Members, dispatched Emergency Response Vehicles, opened several shelters overnight and provided Mass Care to evacuees.  

Indiana – Severe storms with tornado activity destroyed and damaged homes and left hundreds of residents without power throughout several portions of the state on Sunday.  Multiple injuries reported. 

Chapters within the region deployed Team Members, opened a reception center as well as shelters and provided Mass Care.

Kentucky – Severe thunderstorms that affected the Midwest also caused tornado activity that destroyed and damaged homes in Henderson and Union Counties on Sunday. 

The chapter deployed Team Members and opened a reception center to provide assistance to residents within the affected area.

Missouri – Tornado activity from a severe storm affected several homes in Scott County on Sunday.

The Southeast Missouri Chapter deployed Team Members to assess damage and provided assistance to affected-area residents if needed.

The Southern Missouri region is on stand-by and ready to provide Mutual Aid to Illinois.
