Arkansas – Disaster Responders from the Northwest Arkansas Chapter of the American Red Cross provided canteen service and care to the Harrison Fire Department working to contain fire at the Pace Industries plant in Harrison, Arkansas, Sunday, April 21st.
Pace Industries manufactures thin wall die castings and other applications. Plumes of black smoke spilling from the building caused the closing of Arkansas Highway 62/65 bypass. With the devastating fire at West Fertilizer Company, West, Texas top of mind, concerns for the possibility of materials exploding within the plant were heightened.
More than half of the 380,000 square foot building was damaged. Workers in the building at the start of the blaze were able to escape without injury.
