Disaster Alert

Florida – Brush fires burned approximately 450 acres in Punta Gorda reportedly damaging a mobile home and burned an estimated 70 acres in Englewood prompting a temporary evacuation of residents yesterday.

A wildfire burned 60 acres in Vero Beach yesterday; the extent of damage is unknown at this time.

The Southwest Florida chapter assisted with Canteening for responders and placed a shelter on standby.

At the request of the Indian River Fire Service the North Treasure Coast chapter provided meals, snacks and water to first responders from an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV).
