Texas – Severe weather has produced heavy snow, up to hurricane force wind gusts and single-digit temperatures that affected travel in several portions of the state and left residents without power on Monday.
Chapters within the North Texas Region communicated with Emergency Management, opened several warming centers / shelters, placed others on stand-by and provided Mass Care.
High winds complicated brush as well as residential fires that destroyed an apartment complex, damaged another and affected scores of residents in Bexar County since Monday. Multiple fatalities reported.
The Southwest Texas Region deployed Disaster Action Team members, dispatched an Emergency Response Vehicle and provided Mass Care.
