Red Cross Responds to Storm Damage in the Delta
Greenville, MS – American Red Cross Northwest Mississippi Chapter is responding to this morning’s severe weather in Bolivar, Coahoma, Grenada, Tallahatchie and Tate Counties.
With reports of strong winds and rain in the Delta area, staff and volunteer teams are in the area providing client case work with assistance for displaced families.
“The Red Cross has issued a Disaster Assessment Team (DAT) call, and our outreach volunteers and staff are assessing the damage to determine the communities needs,” said Jo Gibbons, Readiness and Response Manager. “Outreach teams are spread throughout the Delta area and they will also determine client service delivery, including food, shelter and clothing for people with emergency or immediate needs.”
